Our Story

Knead to Move, LLC strives to provide high quality, personally focused, continued therapeutic myofascial bodywork.

Using advanced techniques designed specifically for your pain conditions or functional challenges we act as an advocate for your body and through proper, detailed exploration, we find things most doctors won’t. We help to bring your body back to its natural state of ease and movement so that you can feel better NOW and continue better tomorrow.

Our sessions are interactive and intentional. We listen to your issues and develop a goal together for the session and for sessions to come. We look at why the body is reacting and find the root cause of your pain instead of just chasing it. We look at the body as a whole instead of just the pain spot because we know the body is one big web of muscles.

Lydia Lamm Foster,  LMT, BCTMB, CEIM

As someone who has had spine dysfunction and headaches since an early age, Lydia knows firsthand that making a commitment to yourself isn’t always easy, but is extremely valuable. By receiving regular massage, she has been able to relieve and manage her pain. She’s discovered what life is supposed to be like and how amazing it feels to move her body free of pain and restore it to its natural state.

Then, working in a cubical right out of high school, Lydia felt a pull that there was more to life than spending her days behind a desk. Being a natural caregiver, she was drawn to the opportunities massage therapy had to offer, and while in massage school she found her calling. She decided to work towards making therapeutic massage her full- time career. Her passion is now to help you experience the benefits massage has to offer and help you live your life the way it’s supposed to be lived. The way she’s been able to live hers – pain free!

Since graduating in 2007, Lydia has received certifications in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique, Mother Massage, Infant Massage and currently working towards certifications in Anatomy Trains and Orthopedic Assessment. She has also had continued training in integrative mental health and sports massage. Lydia has been a professional member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals since 2007. Starting a new venture in April 2017, Lydia opened her own massage practice, Knead to Move, LLC right here in Richmond, VA. Her calm nature and profound strength enable Lydia to thrive as an exceptional massage therapist.

In her spare time Lydia enjoys a cup of Earl Grey tea and time outside with her dogs!
